The Year I Received the Most Thoughtful Gift of My Life

Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.

When I was a kid, I loved playing with baby dolls. I had three of them — Sonu, Monu, and Tonu — all in different sizes.

My favorite was Sonu. Probably because he was very fat and big. He was also smiling.

I had given Monu’s chaddi to Sonu.

Tonu was very tiny.

Was I a good mother to them? No — I clearly said I had a favorite. We all know all parents have a favorite, but you’re not supposed to say it out loud, you know.

Was I at least a hygiene-conscious mother? Also no. I gave Monu’s underwear to Sonu and I don’t remember washing them. Maybe their grandma (my mom) washed them.

So anyway, my point is — I have loved babies ever since I was a baby.

I wanted a baby since I was… I don’t know. I was just very very tinyyyyy.

In 2007, after begging my parents for more than five years, they finally decided to gift a baby to me.

It arrived a little before my sixth birthday — but back in those days Amazon wasn’t as big a thing as it is now, so shipping and delivery couldn’t be controlled.

Regardless, I got a live baby. I named him Krish — from the movie Krrish.

That was the most thoughtful gift I’ve ever received from my parents.

Unfortunately, it grew up and is no longer a baby (Sonu, Monu, and Tonu are still babies), so minus points for that. I can’t find the product on Amazon anymore to write a review there, again very unfortunately.

Keeping the growing up aside, the gift was a 10/10 — very thoughtful. Would recommend.
