As one might be aware, I’m a very patient person.
Which is exactly why I’m shocked that I’m struggling to continue Criminal Justice on Hotstar. I started it because I’d heard so much hype — but I’m on Episode 4 right now and I genuinely don’t know if I can keep going.
- The beginning is unnecessarily long.
The entire “covering his father’s taxi shift” + weird passenger + constant drop location changes + drug-taking sequence just drags forever. We get it — one bad night changes everything. But did it need that much screen time? - The main character is a dumbass.
There’s no polite way to say this. His decisions are so painfully avoidable that it’s frustrating to watch. Every choice he makes feels like the worst possible one available in that moment. - The police feel incompetent (or badly written).
The investigation feels rushed, sloppy, and weirdly one-track. It’s less “let’s find the truth” and more “let’s close the case quickly.” At this point I can’t tell if the system is intentionally written this way — or if the writing itself is weak.
I really want to understand the hype… but four episodes in, my patience is being personally tested.
