🎧 I Don’t Discover Songs. I Accidentally Fall Into Them Years Late and Then Make It My Personality.
I don’t listen to songs when they release. I don’t keep up with trends. I don’t “stay updated.”
What I do instead is accidentally stumble upon songs years—sometimes a decade—late, and then proceed to behave as if the artist wrote it yesterday after observing my life very closely.
And once I latch onto a song? Oh, it’s over. I will drain it of all emotional value, replay it into oblivion, and assign it a personality trait.
Here are some songs that found me late… and unfortunately, found me hard.
🎶 Record Player — The “I’m a Brilliant Detective” Era
I heard this on High Potential.
“Ah yes. This is my intellectual background music now.”
I don’t know what it is about this song, but it makes me feel like I solve crimes between sips of coffee and emotionally unavailable eye contact.
The vibe is what matters.
🎶 Ordinary — The Accidental Existential Crisis
This wasn’t even a discovery. It was an accident.
I wasn’t paying attention… until suddenly:
“Wait. What are these lyrics…?”
I had to pause everything and actually listen.
This wasn’t a “nice song” moment. This was a “rethink my life” moment.
🎶 Bad Romance — The Song I Ignored Like a Fool
I skipped this song. For years.
Now? I cannot escape it.
It’s dramatic. Chaotic. Slightly unhinged. Unfortunately… relatable.
This song doesn’t just play—it performs.
🎶 Judas — Same Mistake, Same Consequences
Skipped it. Again.
I clearly have a pattern of avoiding greatness.
Now I’m obsessed.
It feels like making questionable decisions… but with aesthetic lighting.
🎶 Love Stereo Again (Hindi) — The Soft Obsession
This one doesn’t demand attention.
It just… stays.
And suddenly, it’s part of your emotional identity.
🎶 Dhurandhar Title Track — The Plot Twist
I avoided this because I thought it would be too “action core.”
I was wrong.
Now I’m considering watching the entire movie because of a song.
Conclusion: My Toxic Trait
My toxic trait is thinking I “discovered” songs that already had a fanbase before I even noticed them.
But honestly?
Discovering them late feels… personal.
And I will not be taking criticism.
Written during a completely normal, totally not obsessive music phase.
