We’re in April.
I was born in April.
I love Crimes.
So today, for no reason besides having free will and an internet connection — let’s look at dictators, serial killers, and just random weirdass people that were born in this beautiful month of April.
1. Adolf Hitler
I mean this list could end right here and April would still win the psychopath Olympics. Born on 20th April 1889, Adolf Hitler was an Austrian-born German politician whose fame the world could have easily avoided by not rejecting his art pieces. This is what you get for not letting people live their dreams. Well deserved humans. Well deserved.
Also, if Hitler is dead for real, his date of death is recorded to be 30th of April 1945. He poisoned his dog and shot himself after the execution of Benito Mussolini on the 28th of April. Hitler feared that if he was captured and killed, his corpse would meet a similar fate to Mussolini’s, which was publicly displayed after his execution and abused by the people.
One April is enough to kill two dictators. Sweet sweet April.
2. Kim Il Sung of North Korea
You thought two dictators were enough for one day? Think again, because Korea has something to add. Kim was born in Japanese-ruled Korea and grew up in northeast China. This man goes on to become the founder of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, or in simpler words — North Korea. After his death, he was named the “eternal president” of the country, having been the founding father.
3. Saddam Hussein of Iraq
I’m starting to see a pattern here but it is what it is I guess. One of the world’s most notorious and evil dictators to exist was Iraq’s Saddam Hussein. And wouldn’t you know — born on April 28, 1937.
4. António de Oliveira Salazar
Third time’s the charm? Well not this time because we have a fourth dictator joining us today. Born on the 28th of April 1889.
Prime Minister of Portugal from 1932 to 1968, establishing the Estado Novo (New State), an authoritarian corporatist regime that ruled for over 40 years.
5. Donald Harvey
Also known as the Angel of Death, Donald Harvey was born on April 15 in 1952. He claimed to have killed around 87 people, but only 37 deaths were confirmed. He started his killing spree as a way of showing mercy to those that were in pain (he worked at a hospital) and later started enjoying the process. Cool guy not gonna lie.
6. William Shakespeare
One of the best writers to have ever existed, with one of the most twisted collections of works, William Shakespeare was born sometime in April 1564, baptised on April 26 of the same year. He also died in April in 1616. Many historians believe his birth date and his death date were both April 23.
April’s Bonus Death List
In addition to all this, Italian dictator Benito Mussolini died on 28th April 1945. Cambodian dictator Pol Pot died on 15th April 1998. Albania’s Enver Hoxha died on 11th April 1985. Indian serial killer Raman Raghav died on 7th April 1995.
April is the most awesome month of the year, as you can see. No other month can ever come close to April in being cool, badass and chaotic. All while flowers bloom everywhere. The devil dresses in a floral suit.
